Annual ACP Awards
Celebrating the Best in the Christian Press
ACP AWARDS 2010 CALL FOR ENTRIES
It’s time to choose your best work of 2009 for the annual ACP "Best of the Christian Press" awards competition for publication members — newspapers, newsletters, magazines, journals, news services, E-zines and Web sites. The Awards Committee has enhanced the entry categories to make the awards experience the most rewarding ever for ACP members.
We also plan to automate much more of the sorting and judging of entries, to help make this year's awards program fiasco free.
Eligible entries are due January 8, 2010. Winners in the categories of journalistic and creative writing, theology, design, marketing, and overall Best in Class will be announced at the annual Awards Banquet at the May 2010 convention in Washington, D.C.
The yearly competition, drawing more than 1,000 entries in 60 categories, provides an opportunity to recognize professional excellence among ACP members. The judging includes an evaluation and suggestions for improvement.

Through an exciting collaboration with Church Publishing Inc., a sampling of our ACP "Best of the Christian Press" award winners have appeared in book form — Changing Boundaries: The Best Religion News Writing in 2005, with another volume for 2006.
In addition, ACP occasionally confers award recognition individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of religious journalism: The William B. Lipphard Award "for Distinguished Service to Religious Journalism" and the Citation of Honor.
The William B. Lipphard Award
For Distinguished Service To Religious Journalism
For Distinguished Service To Religious Journalism
This award was established by the Associated Church Press in 1966. It was named to honor Dr. William B. Lipphard (1887-1971), a long-time participant in ACP and its first executive secretary from 1951-1961. The Award is given occasionally to recognize special achievement in the field of religious journalism. The Award is intended to be the highest honor which the Associated Church Press can confer. It is also the broadest inasmuch as its recipient need not be or have been a participant in the Associated Church Press. The Lipphard Award is intended to honor individuals who have satisfied at least one of these criteria:
