Oldest religious communicators group reaches out to newest

The Associated Church Press, the oldest ecumenical organization for professional religious communicators, is reaching out to those on the cutting edge of communications: the growing community of religious bloggers. We have just established a new membership category for bloggers and have done so at a significantly lower rate ($69) than our dues for print publication members.

New membership applications are already coming in from such bloggers as theologian William Lindsey (http://bilgrimage.blogspot.com/) and communications expert Meredith Gould (http://meredithgould.blogspot.com/).

We have also established a new awards category for blogs in our popular annual ACP Awards competition. We invite you to compete with other religious bloggers for the bragging rights of the "Best Religious Blog." In addition to that "Best in class" category, your membership also allows you to submit awards entries under the many writing categories (opinion piece, feature article, news story, column, review, and most others).

The award winners will be announced at the ACP convention May 6-8 in Washington, DC. In addition to featuring keynote speaker Cokie Roberts, the convention will also include special workshops and roundtables for bloggers and provide great opportunities for these communicators to network with your colleagues both in print and online religious journalism.
